National Youth Service Phase 5

KwaZulu-Natal · 2026/27

NYS cohort with seedling trays

Community service. Practical skills.

The challenge

Youth unemployment and food insecurity are deeply linked in rural KwaZulu-Natal.

What we do

With Seriti Institute, Imbewu hosts young people at its Mkhambathini and KwaMbonambi sites. Participants serve in food gardens, ECD centres and environmental activities while building work-readiness, practical agricultural and environmental skills.

Partners

Seriti Institute (programme partner) · Ithuba Agribusiness and EcoAfrica (on the ground).
